Eternal Castle Adventure

Eternal Castle Adventure is an interactive fantasy adventure, in the style of a picture book or text adventure. Your world begins in a forest from where you must reach a castle and traverse mountains to use advanced technology and resources across space-time to help save the world! See help->story for the full story. You play using text or speech, like texting or phoning a friend or an AI. You command your avatar to move around, manipulate objects, and interact with other avatars. And your avatar responds to you, likewise with text and speech. In so doing you gradually discover your world and your mission in it. If you need guidance, help->story includes a solution guide. You command your avatar using short phrases, typically of the form verb noun , for example open door . Although you may try longer phrases, for example open the blue door . Discovering the language available to you is part of the game. Help->words provides a list of common commands to get you going. And you can even teach your avatar new words. You may configure your device for keyboard or speech input. For speech you need to configure your device speech recognition settings. And you may also opt to set spoken output, for which you need to configure your device text-to-speech settings. Static translations from English are currently provided for: Chinese (simplified), French, Filipino (Tagalog), German, Hindi, Japanese, Spanish and Thai. The game automatically selects the static translation by retrieving your device language & input settings. For language settings that are not provided with a static translation, the display remains in English. Dynamic translation is supported through an external translate service. Tapping on a dialogue frame will invoke the Google Translate app (provided it is installed on your device). Or you can press and hold a dialogue frame to use Copy and Paste with another app or browser. Similar to static translations, the game automatically selects the dynamic translation by retrieving your device language & input settings. Or, you can set Enable Translation Override in the game settings, to choose any available language for dynamic translation. As the current Google Translate APIs do not offer an acceptable method for dynamic in-app translation, the game only accepts input in English. (Maybe in the future apps like Eternal Castle will be able to support input/output using dynamic translation.) The game will run on devices operating Froyo (Android 2.2) up to Marshmallow (Android 6.0). The game is designed to be suitable for all players and ages, depending upon language, imagination and problem-solving skills. Even so, it may take you a while to solve. Installing the game requires the following four permissions: 1/ In-app purchases: earlier versions of the game offered in-app purchases and the capability remains built-in. However, the current game offers no in-app purchases. 2/ Record Audio: this allows you to utter spoken commands. The game makes no other audio recording usage. 3/ Access Network State: this is needed to determine the network status for speech recognition. Speech recognition requires access to a network, such as wifi. With no network available, speech recognition will not function. The game makes no other use of Network State. 4/ Internet: this is needed for translation. Translation requires access to a network, such as wifi. You can use offline translation, but you will first have to download a translation module through your device settings. Otherwise, with no network available, translation will not work. The game makes no other use of the Internet.
