Trick Call Online

Key Features •  1-4 players •  Private and global multiplayer •  Single player against the AI •  Text and voice chat •  Public ranking lists •  Character leveling •  Colorful presentation with 100 avatars The Game Trick Call is a variant of the card game Oh Hell*. It is specifically designed for online multiplayer. The game is faster (5-10 min), the role of luck is reduced, and it punishes wrong bids more rigorously. If you know Oh Hell already, you may find this list of Trick Call's rules useful: •  Maximum number of cards: 8 •  Minimum number of cards: 1 •  Deal pattern: Up only •  Romanian Whist style: Only the high cards necessary to deal all cards out for a maximum hand are placed in the deck. •  Screw the dealer: The sum of the bids must not be equal to the total number of tricks available in the hand •  Scoring: If the player’s bid is correct, he receives the number of points that correspond to his number of tricks plus one point. If the player’s bid turns out wrong because he has taken too many or too few tricks, his score is decreased by 2 points per missed trick •  Hearts (and not Spades) is the trump color *Also known as 765, Lal, Whist, Elevator, Contract, Kachuful, Chukat, Kari, Blackout, Bust, Blob, German Bridge, Up and Down the River Game Rules for Beginners Trick Call is a trick-tacking card game played by four players playing against each other with a French 32-card-deck. The game is about announcing card tricks ("bids") with the goal of taking the exact number of card tricks announced. A match consists of 8 rounds. In each round, the players receive a certain number of cards. The match starts with one card in the first round, then one card is added in each round until the maximum of 8 cards in the final round. Every card is a potential trick. Before a round starts, the players announce the number of tricks they will make. In round three, for example, each player can announce a number of tricks from 0 (no trick) to 3 (all tricks). The cards are played one after the other from left to right. When the first player places a card, all other players must play the same color. For example, if the first player places clubs, it is considered the lead color, and all other players must also play clubs. However, this only applies if the player has clubs in hand. If the player cannot play the lead color, he may play any other color. The highest card wins the trick. Cards that are not the color of the lead card cannot win the trick (with one exception, see below). The cards are ranked as follows: 7, 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King, Ace. The player who wins the trick leads to the next trick. Players rotate after each round. There is an important exception rule: hearts is the trump color. This means that hearts is always higher than a played non-hearts card. But here too, the higher hearts card wins. Also, like all colors, hearts may only be played if either hearts is the lead color or the player does not have the lead color in hand. If the player’s trick call is correct, he receives the number of points that correspond to his number of tricks plus one point. If the player’s trick call turns out wrong because he has made too many or too few tricks, his score is decreased by 2 points per missed trick. The player with the highest total trick score aggregated over all 8 rounds wins the match. There is one additional rule which applies to the last player of a round. The total number of trick calls across all players must not be equal to the number of cards in hand. For example, if the number of cards in hand is 5, then the total number of trick calls must not be 5 as well. The last player can only call a number of tricks that fulfills this condition.
