The main idea is that the user should have a simple user interface that gives them information about the blocks that are viewed directly in the game. This port is called Waila and includes similar but more basic functions. A text hint is added each time the block is viewed during the game. This is a very popular mod and it exists now. Easy to use. Just long enough to click on the block you want to know more about. At the top of the central part of the screen you will see a small display with the name, ID and data values.
