Every genuine Sudoku puzzle has a unique solution that can be reached logically without guessing. You need to fill the grid so that every horizontal row, every vertical column and every 3x3 box contains the digits 1-9, without repeating the numbers in the same row, column or box. You can’t change the digits already given in the grid. It is as simple as that! Understanding the explanations in the app - There are various methods to solve a Sudoku puzzle. The app utilizes the approach of eliminating invalid options from each of the empty cells, iteratively, using logic and reasoning. Most of the time, you will be able to solve a puzzle by utilizing a combination of the following techniques - 1. If there is only one option left in an empty cell, the same can be confirmed in that cell. And, this also means that the same number can no longer remain an option for other empty cells in the same row, same column and the same box. 2. If in a box, a number can come only in one row/column, other two boxes in the same row/column cannot have that number as an option in the same row/column. 3. If two numbers can come only in same two cells in a row/column/box, other options can be eliminated from these two cells. Also, these two numbers can be eliminated from options in other empty cells in the same row/column/box. Features of the app - 1. Sudoku puzzles are normally classified in one of the four categories – Easy, Medium, Hard and Evil depending on the level of difficulty. An endless list of puzzles comes bundled with the app, you can choose any one of them and press “Begin” to proceed. 2. You can also enter a puzzle you might have got from some other source. However, in this case, app allows you to proceed only if the puzzle has a unique solution. I you believe that a puzzle is valid, please do write to [email protected] with a snapshot of the puzzle. While you are trying to solve a puzzle, if you wish, you can utilize any of the features mentioned below and then, go back to your game - 3.1. Show Puzzle to see the original puzzle 3.2. Show Solution to see the solution of the puzzle 3.3. Check to see how you are doing. This feature highlights the correct and incorrect entries made by you. 3.4. Restart if you think you have seriously messed up and would like to try it all over again. 3.5. You can always scroll through previous or next steps if you get stuck. They start from the point you are in the game till the solution. Logical explanation is also provided with each step.
