The Great Empire has fallen after the last Emperor died suddenly without a child to follow them. With no leader the empire fell and broke into many pieces. Now the regions that used to be part of the empire are at each other's throats, fighting for money, power, and glory. Small time heroes and fighters come out of the woodwork to try to make names for themselves by fighting for whoever pays the most. On the outskirts of the land warbands have formed and seek to fight over the right to rule. Groups of heroes and mercenaries are brought together to serve under one banner. Mages fight alongside pirates, knights fight alongside goblins.They fight to control the local areas, but some are setting their sights much higher - on the throne itself. Who will be powerful enough to take the title of empire, and rule over the regions once again. Or will no ruler arise, and the land forever be thrown into chaos and disorder? In a small farming village on the edge of the land, a young but brilliant kid dreams of uniting the land once again.
