O Jaguarete-Avá um é uma lenda que surgiu durante a entradas dos Bandeiras na região do Estado de Mato Grosso do Sul. A lenda conta que existia um índio que podia se transformar em onça para afugentar os Bandeirantes que estavam invadindo a terra deles.
