DBlox - Double Falling Block Puzzle Game

DBlox offers a new, unique, and slightly twisted perspective on the classic falling block puzzle game formula. In DBlox, two random blocks fall simultaneously and are arranged to clear lines in an expanded playing field. Game play is simple and easy to learn, yet always offers a challenge for even the most seasoned player. DBlox is a must have for anyone who is a fan of the genre. It's double the blocks, double the challenge, and double the fun! Features: * Independently control two falling blocks at the same time * Two color coded on-screen controllers * Smooth, fluid, and responsive controls * New block shapes add to the challenge * Clean, simple, and elegant graphics allow you to focus on the game - no background animations, no changing colors, or anything else to distract * Offers ample opportunity to develop new strategies for success * Double blocks = double fun! Game Rules: The falling block shapes, called polyominoes, include the classic seven tetrominoes (4 tiles) plus additional block shapes consisting of 2, 3, 5, or 8 tiles. Two controllers are provided on-screen to independently manipulate the falling polyominoes, which may be rotated, slid left/right, or dropped. Falling polyominoes are tagged with a color-coded arrow indicating which controller should be used for manipulation of each polyomino. New polyominoes spawn above the top of the play field when the game starts and immediately after a previous polyomino goes out of play. Upon spawning, a polyomino immediately begins to fall. When a polyomino cannot fall or drop further, it is locked in place, or 'settled', which takes it out of play. While falling, the polyominoes may pass by one another; if the falling polyominoes overlap when either one settles, the other (unsettled) polyomino 'bubbles up' and immediately settles so that there is no overlap. When polyominoes are settled in such a way as to fully fill rows in the game field, the filled row or rows will disappear and the remaining polyominoes will shift downward. When this occurs, points are awarded on an increasing scale depending on the number of rows cleared simultaneously by settling one piece and the current level. Clearing a group of 4 rows at once by settling the 'I' polyomino (4 squares in a straight line) is called an S-Tetrad; clearing 4 rows at once using the 'Double-I' (8 squares in a 2x4 arrangement) is called a D-Tetrad. Achieving a D-Tetrad will result in bonus points being added to the player's score. Dropping a polyomino will result in additional bonus points based on the number of rows the polyomino was dropped if the polyomino if at least one row is cleared when the polyomino settles. For every 12 rows cleared, the 'level' is advanced. This increases the number of points awarded for clearing rows, and gradually increases the speed at which the polyominoes fall. Some polyominoes will only begin to appear after certain levels have been reached. Game play ends when any portion of a polyomino is settled above the top of the game field (which is 22 lines high).
