Baby Piano

When children are born their eyes are completely developed, but the part of the brain that processes sight information is not. This is the reason why newborns cannot see more than a few centimetres away from them and only clearly see the person holding them. For the rest, newborns are able to see light, forms and motion but in a very blurry way. During their first weeks, young children are attracted by their parents’ face and black and white images, these two being the only colours they can clearly identify. Baby Piano is an app conceived for newborns that aims at stimulating their sight and their ability to identity different forms. The application shows the child a series of colored squares and rectangles that, randomly, change in the geometric shape and in color. Tapping on any of the colored shapes the application plays a short musical track then you can touch again and continue playing..
