Guerilla Chess

** Local network multiplayer only! This game is designed for two players on two devices on the same wi-fi network. ** In Guerilla Chess, one or both players are set up as a guerilla force - where their opponent can only see their pieces when they're in a position to take them. Where a normal side faces a guerilla side, you'll generally set the guerillas up with fewer pieces - maybe try with half the pawns and capital pieces. Or try with both sides as guerillas. The uncertainty of fog of war and the asymmetry of a small guerilla force facing a normal side adds a new dimension to the familiar chess rules. The game only supports local network play. One player should host, and the other player joins, setting the IP address of the host (which they can get from the hosting player's screen) when prompted. Once connected, the game moves to 'Setup', where either player can set each side's type (normal or guerilla), toggle the pieces on and off, or start the game. Once in the game, drag pieces to move them according to normal chess rules (including castling and en passant). A red glow around a piece indicates it's under threat by a piece on a guerilla side (which it might not be able to see). If a piece can't make what looks like a valid move, it's likely the move would leave your King in check. You should see your King flash red in this case. Known issues: * The network connection does not survive either connected device sleeping and resuming. Once the connection is broken, the game in progress is lost and the app will likely need to be restarted on both devices.
