Knight and Soldiers

The Knight and Soldiers game is a two player Board game. The game is played between two players somewhat similar to Checker game. At the start of the game there are 13 Soldiers and 1 Knight on the board. One player plays for all the 13 Soldiers and the other player plays for the Knight. The letter ‘S’ represents a Soldier and the letter ‘K’ the Knight. The 9 intersection points located at the bottom of the board are the Home points for the Knight. For the player playing for the Soldiers, the objective is to try and capture the Knight or occupy all 9 Home Points of the Knight. A Knight is captured if it is impossible to move the Knight. For the player playing for the Knight, the objective is to try to capture as many Soldiers as possible so that not enough Soldiers are left on the board to be able to capture the Knight or occupy all the 9 Home Points of the Knight. The players alternate between games to play for the Soldiers and the Knight. In a game the player who is playing for the Soldiers moves during his turn a single Soldier along a line - either forward or side ways to a vacant adjacent point on the board. The Soldiers cannot move diagonally or backwards. Also a Soldier that has no adjacent vacant points that lies along a straight line that is either forward or side ways cannot be moved. A Soldier is moving forward when it is moving towards the Home Points of the Knight. The player who is playing for the Knight moves during his turn to an adjacent vacant point either forward, backward, side ways or diagonally. The Knight can capture a Soldier by jumping in a straight line over the Soldier to the next unoccupied point. In this case the Soldier jumped over by the Knight will be removed from the board. The Knight has to try to capture as many Soldiers as possible in one go. The Knight cannot jump over two or more consecutive Soldiers in one go. How to play? - To move a Knight/Soldiers, touch the starting intersection point and then drag to a new intersection point. - To Jump over a Soldier to capture it, drag the Knight towards the direction of Soldier that has a vacant intersection point in the same direction. Repeat this as long as the Knight has a valid capture move. - To confirm your action, Press OK button. Otherwise press Cancel button to play your turn.
